STORIES BEHIND THE STARS (Part 2)

Category Residential Property News

Wakefields Real Estate recently held its annual awards ceremony, honouring top performers within the Rentals arm of the business. This prestigious event celebrated the dedication and hard work of letting brokers who have excelled in their roles. Among the top achievers were Linda Mitchell from Wakefields Pinetown and Vanessa Nagel from Wakefields  Umhlanga.

Linda Mitchell: A Trailblazer in Pinetown

Linda Mitchell, the Top Letting Broker for Most New Admin Lets, Top Letting Broker for Most Units Let, and Runner-Up Top Letting Broker on Earnings, has been with Wakefields since 2014. Starting as a dedicated letting broker with little experience in the field, Linda quickly adapted, thanks to excellent training from her letting manager. Over the years, she has qualified for numerous awards based on her letting figures alone. Recently, she began selling rental properties for landlords, leveraging long-standing relationships to expand her portfolio.

Linda's journey to success has been marked by relentless dedication and a commitment to honesty. She emphasizes the importance of marketing properties at market-related prices to attract good tenants and avoid prolonged vacancies. Her approach has earned her a loyal clientele of landlords and tenants who appreciate her transparency and dedication.

Linda advises aspiring agents to be honest, pre-qualify tenants, and maintain a strong work ethic. "Know your craft," she says. "Letting is a huge job compared to sales, and the earning capacity from a rental is approximately one-tenth of the money earned from a sale. However, if you do a good job, your landlord will be yours for the life of the rental property, and he will refer you to others."

Vanessa Nagel: From Admin to Award-Winning Letting Broker

Vanessa Nagel, the Runner-Up Top Letting Broker for Most Units Let and Top Letting Broker on Earnings, began her career in an administrative role at Wakefields Berea office before moving to Umhlanga. Encouraged by a mentor, Vanessa transitioned to a letting broker role, where she discovered her talent for building and maintaining client relationships.

Vanessa attributes her success to hard work, long hours, and dedication. "Consistent activity produces results," she notes. Overcoming challenges and managing time effectively have been key to her growth as an agent. Vanessa's spontaneous, friendly nature and willingness to go the extra mile have set her apart in the industry.

Vanessa advises new agents to have energy and persistence. "The secret to success is experiencing happy clients that will come back to you time after time," she shares.

Wakefields Real Estate is proud to celebrate the achievements of Linda and Vanessa. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the spirit of excellence that defines Wakefields. Congratulations to all the award recipients for their outstanding accomplishments.
